At the heart of Naivasha, Kenya, the Wezesha Foundation is transforming lives by empowering youth and strengthening families. With a mission rooted in faith, accountability, and community, Wezesha is creating lasting change through its holistic approach. The foundation operates four core pillars: Learning Together, Caring Together, Growing Together, and Thriving Together. These pillars guide their efforts to nurture young minds, promote family well-being, and bring about sustainable progress within the community.

Fund for Education’s Role in Supporting Global Education

As part of its mission to provide access to high-quality education, Fund for Education (FFE) offers a variety of online soft skills and technical courses through its Arena Learning Hub. This platform is designed to provide individuals from the global South and Eastern Europe with valuable educational opportunities, helping them acquire the skills they need to thrive in today’s world.

In our latest project, we had the chance of partnering with Wezesha Foundation to deliver impactful financial literacy courses to their staff and community members to make a tangible difference in empowering individuals.

A Step Toward Financial Literacy

On July-Aug, 2025, 17 Wezesha staff and community members participated in an 8-session “Financial Literacy” course, sponsored by FFE Austria. The course was mentored by Dr. Georg Musil, who generously volunteered his time and expertise. Through this course, participants gained valuable insights into topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and personal financial prosperity.

Building on this success, on Sep-Oct 2025, 10 women from the community participated in an online “Women Financial Empowerment” course, led by Mr. David Pohl, a volunteer mentor who shared his knowledge and strategies for empowering women in money management. The course focused on the unique challenges women face and provided practical tools to help them overcome barriers to financial independence. These courses are more than just learning experiences; they have sparked a broader movement within the community, one that promotes financial education for all.

Transferring Knowledge Across Generations

The next step for Wezesha is now to put the knowledge gained from these courses into action. The foundation is now working to transfer financial literacy skills across different age groups in the community, including children, junior youth, and adults in the form of workshops and course training. This knowledge transfer is essential in helping each group understand money management in their own context. For children, the focus will be on the basics of money management, saving, and generosity. Junior youth will learn how to develop solid budgeting habits, while adults will be empowered to make informed financial decisions, plan for their futures, and work towards financial prosperity.

By taking these lessons to the community, Wezesha is fostering a culture of financial literacy that can have a lasting impact on the entire region. The training and mentorship provided to staff, combined with the upcoming community sessions, are helping to build a foundation for long-term prosperity.

Building Resilient, Thriving Communities

This cycle of knowledge transfer—from one individual to another, from one generation to the next—is a powerful tool for building resilient and thriving communities. By empowering individuals and encouraging shared learning, a positive ripple effect is created that strengthens families and uplifts entire communities. Through financial literacy education, individuals are not just learning how to manage money; they are gaining the tools to take control of their futures, cultivate mutual support, and contribute to the prosperity of their communities. This collaborative, knowledge-driven approach is the key to creating lasting change and ensuring a brighter future for all.

By sponsoring initiatives like this and supporting FFE’s online courses, you play a vital role in keeping this transformative learning cycle alive where it’s needed most. Contribute now.
